Charlie’s largest crowd for a TV performance was three thousand people at Alexander Palace in London for the BBC 2 ‘Wind Rush Gala’.
The Voice Newspaper called it, “a concert of a life time”. The show hosted seven comedians and seventeen pop stars in a two hour special.
His biggest viewing audience going out live on TV was when Sky TV asked Charlie to perform impressions of Mike Tyson and Chris Eubank at ringside when Tyson came over to Manchester to fight Julius Francis.
Over a billion people watched the fight at the M. E. N. arena.
Charlie appeared on the ITV show “What’s New”, the show went out live after News at Ten.
The thirty minute comedy and music show featured Dave Spikey who played Vince St Claire the compare in Peter Kays ‘Phoenix Nights’.
He has performed at Carlton TV’s ‘Emma’ awards held at the Grosvner House Hotel London, he recieved a standing ovation doing his impressions of Chris Eubank and Prince Nassem Hammed who were in the audience.
Also he was on the Sky TV music show “Elvis Has Just Left The Building” presented by Noddy Holder, the former Slade singer.The half hour slot featured music and comedy.
When Granada TV brought back the seventy’s show ‘The Comedians’, National newspaper critic Pam Francis gave Charlie rave reviews describing him as “the bright young thing of the show”.
Sky TV also revamped the early seventy’s impressionist show “Who do you do”. Charlie featured on all twenty-four episodes.
Sky TV later gave Charlie his own half hour show called ‘Stand and Deliver’, the show was repeated many times on Sky One.
Charlie starred in and wrote one episode of BBC 2 show ‘The A-Force’, each week on a Friday night, four comics would answer topical questions on current events, this suited Charlie, as he is a master of ad lib.
One of his first TV shows was” Hangar 17″ BBC1 it was Robbie Williams first National TV show with his band Take That.
He has also performed on “Sky plus comedians”.
He was a guest on Brenden Coogans chat show”The Loafers” on BBC Choice.
Charlie has taken part in a sixty-minute interview for Man United on the Reds Replay, he has also appeared on the fans favourite program Soccer AM (Sky Sports).
He was recently on Granada TV as a guest on the “Afternoon Show” chatting about comedy and his faith and his TV career.
Charlie has appeared on many sporting TV programmes including Sky Boxing & Sky Football.
Many years ago Charlie had a minor hit with “Zippin up the House” which featured Zippy & George singing house music which was Radio 1 “Record of the Week”.
